Honey from the hives of Merseyside.

Merseybees keeps honeybees around Liverpool and jars what they make in small batches. Order straight from the beekeeper, for collection or local delivery.

Stock follows the harvest, so jars come and go through the year.

Found a swarm of bees?

Don't panic, and please don't spray it. A swarm is a honeybee colony looking for a new home, and the bees are usually calm. Tell us where it is and we'll do our best to collect it and settle it into a hive.

We cover Merseyside and beyond for collection of swarms

Is it a honeybee swarm?

  • A clump or cloud of bees, often hanging from a branch, fence or wall.
  • Slim, golden-brown to dark bees, about the size of a fingernail.
  • It appeared suddenly, usually on a warm day between May and July.

Probably not a swarm

  • Big, furry bumblebees going in and out of a hole or bird box. Leave them be: the nest dies off naturally by the end of summer.
  • Shiny yellow-and-black wasps, or a papery nest. That's a job for pest control, not a beekeeper.

While you wait

Keep people and pets back, and don't spray, block or disturb the bees. Swarms can move on within hours, so the sooner you tell us the better.

Why do bees swarm?

Every jar starts at a hive we look after.

Our Story
Merseybees began from a genuine fascination with local ecology and a desire to craft pure, artisan honey for our community. What started with careful hive management at home quickly grew into a dedicated family endeavor, blending a love for nature with the craft of traditional beekeeping.

Our Hives
Our apiaries are proudly scattered across Merseyside. By placing our colonies in a carefully chosen mix of quiet home gardens and lush local farm locations around Liverpool, we give our bees access to a vibrant and diverse landscape.

The Seasonal Harvest
The unique character of our honey is entirely shaped by the changing seasons in the city and surrounding countryside. In early spring, our bees wake up to forage on fresh tree blossoms and newly sprouted bulbs. Through the summer months, they thrive on local wildflowers and rich garden favourites like dahlias. As the year winds down, late-blooming ivy and autumn nectar provide a rich, complex finish to our harvests.
